چکیده مقاله |
Adhesives can disintegrate over time and once exposed to harsh chemical conditions in environments like fuel cells that comprise chemicals, and do not accomplish the desired final application. As a result, developing adhesives that can withstand extreme chemical environments is crucial for different applications. Epoxy adhesive is capable of providing a wide range of final specifications and applications. In this paper, the mechanical and chemical properties of developed epoxy adhesive were investigated by lap-shear and acidic media chemical resistance tests, respectively. Fuel cells are a new technology for energy production that produces high-efficiency electrical energy. Two-component epoxy systems have a verified track record for providing excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and adhesion to a wide range of substrates [1]. They are frequently chosen over other technologies especially when chemical resistance is an important feature [2]. In this research, epoxy-graphite composite (EGC) is an essential part that the goal is to increase the sealing property of fuel cells made of epoxy-graphene composite. Exposure to solvents and harsh liquids over time can damage adhesives and binders, weakening the bond between two points or surfaces, including fuel cells. Therefore, the mechanical and chemical properties of utilized dual-component epoxy-based adhesive in acidic solution during a time (three weeks) were investigated. |
