چکیده مقاله
Glutamate as an amino acid plays a fundamental role in many central nervous system activities, consequently, its accurate release determination is vital in medical science, clinical biochemistry and neurosciences. The electrochemical biosensors are one of the important device that can be well used in the accurate determination of glutamate. In these biosensors, the catalytic activity of the glutamate oxidase which is fixed on the appropriate electrode surface, in the presence of glutamate as substrate, causes the production of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is an electroactive product and its concentration is proportional to the concentration of glutamate, as a result, glutamate can be measured using conventional electrochemical methods (1).

Despite such tremendous advantages, glutamate oxidase-based biosensors, like any other electrochemical biosensor, are subject to interferer agents that overshadow the biosensor performance; in other words, interferers can affect the selectivity of the biosensor. In this research, the effect of glutathione on the response of the glutamate oxidase-based biosensor is investigated.
