چکیده مقاله
The Increasing of soil salinity is a growing problem in agriculture. Several methods are being developed to reduce soil salinity. One of these methods is the use of the electrokinetic process, in which the application of electric current to the soil is used to remove ions from the soil with two main mechanisms of electromigration and electroosmosis flow. This method has received attention due to its simplicity and lack of significant damage to the soil texture, but the parameters affecting it require further study and investigation. In this study, the effect of soil type (clay and sand) and applied electric voltage (1 and 2 V/cm) on two levels of salinity (non-saline and relatively saline) were investigated. In all experiments, the applied electric current led to the reduction of soil salinity to a non-saline level. Clay soil passed more electric current due to finer particles. Applying a higher electric voltage has caused a faster transport of the ions from the soil and a faster reduction of soil salinity. At higher applied voltage, the accumulation of ions on the second day near the anode is lower
