In the present work, we report the synthesis, characterization and application of a novel, very simple, rapid and cost-effective non-enzymatic sensor for electrochemical determination of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). It was fabricated by electrodepositing of poly(aniline) (PANI) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) on the surface pencil graphite electrode (PGE). The modified PANI/AuNPs/PGE was characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and cyclic voltametry (CV) techniques. The resulting sensor exhibited a linear response for H2O2 over the concentration range of 0.05-0.84 mM (µmol L-1) with a detection limit of µmol L-1 (S/N=3), and sensitivity of using the amperometric method. Our results demonstrate that the modified electrodes have excellent H2O2 sensing capability, including high reproducibility and stability, a short response time, a wide linear relationship of concentration range (0.05-0.84 mM), a very low applied potential (0.35 V), and a low detection limit(0.07 mM) with great promise in the quantification of H2O2 in real samples. |
